Panda and Peanut, the breeding Shiba Inu pair at Yokiko

Boutique Shiba Inu Breeder in Victoria

Home-raised puppies, temperament matching, and practical guidance for Australian Shiba owners.

Current Status

No puppies currently available

Our most recent litter has been placed in carefully matched homes. Our next planned breeding is scheduled for late 2026, with puppies expected ready for new families in early 2027. If that timing suits your household, your application helps us understand whether our program is the right fit before the next litter arrives.

How We Raise Them

What “home-raised” actually means

Panda, our sire, in our home in Melbourne

Raised inside our home

Every Yokiko puppy is raised as part of our daily routine in Melbourne, not in an outdoor kennel or a separate breeding shed. That means household sounds, regular handling, and exposure to ordinary life from the first few weeks.

Peanut investigating a toy on bedding, part of daily home life

Daily handling and early socialisation

We don’t place puppies on a queue. Each puppy is observed for the first eight weeks so we can match them to families based on temperament, not order of application. The wait is usually 6 to 18 months from application.

Peanut alert and attentive, well-handled and confident

Documented care, ready to settle

Puppies leave with age-appropriate vaccinations started, microchip details, worming history, and a written feeding and settling guide for the first weeks at home. Both parents are health tested; results available on request.

Our program is built around two dogs

Panda and Peanut are the foundation of our current program. Their full bios, pedigree notes, and health information are on the Our Dogs page.
